Publication of a report proposing the launch of a Small Business Listing Act

19/03/2010

Christine Lagarde, the French Minister of Economy, Industry and Employment, has published a report on the launch of a ‘Small Business Listing Act’ which has been submitted to the Ministry at her request by Fabrice Demarigny, Partner at Marccus Partners.

Today, in Brussels, Christine Lagarde, Minister of Economy, Industry and Employment, unveiled a report proposing the launch and introduction of a ‘Small Business Listing Act’ (SBA) into European Financial and Banking Law. This proposal is part of a report that Fabrice Demarigny, Director of Capital Markets of the international Mazars group and Partner at Marccus Partners was commissioned to produce last autumn. In his report, Fabrice Demarigny defines the concept of ‘SMILEs’ (Small and medium-sized issuers listed in Europe), and discusses the implementation of a financial and regulatory environment suitable for small and medium-sized issuers listed in Europe. It also suggests a common definition of the notion of ‘SME’ for the European Union. Christine Lagarde supports the proposals set out by Fabrice Demarigny and will request legislative action from European Commission.
