Continued growth at Marccus Partners in France: Partner recruitments in Banking & Finance, Restructuring, Mergers & Acquisitions, Employment & Pensions, and Tax

Christophe Clerc (Managing Partner – Legal) and Yves Charles Zimmermann (Managing Partner – Tax) are strengthening their respective teams in Paris through the lateral hire of new partners.

Financing & Restructuring

Pierre François (age 37) has recently joined Marccus Partners as a Partner, heading the Banking and Finance department. Before coming to the firm, he worked for more than 10 years for several international practices in Paris, gaining experience in acquisition and project finance and M&A. He began his career at Gide Loyrette Nouel, moved from there to Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and finally to Dewey Leboeuf. His experience particularly covers private equity operations. He regularly assists sponsors, managers and banks in their national and international operations. Pierre François has significant expertise in debt capital market issues and debt restructuring.

Marccus Partners has also increased their Restructuring team, led by Pierre Forget, partner, with the arrival of Emmanuel Huet (age 34) as a senior associate.
Emmanuel has been a lawyer since 2004 and has previously worked for the firms Gide Loyrette Novel and Clifford Chance.
 

Mergers & Acquisitions

Jacques Deege (age 34) has joined the firm’s Corporate/M&A department as counsel. He began his career at Sullivan & Cromwell in 2004, practising in Paris and New York, where he gained 7 years of experience in mergers & acquisitions, equity capital markets and corporate law.

Tax

The tax team has been strengthened by the arrival of Jean Vincensini (age 36) and Eugénie Berthet (age 43), both joining as partners.

Jean is a tax lawyer specialising in mergers and acquisitions, LBOs and the structuring of national and international transactions as well as bank and insurance tax. He began his career in Fiscal Management for the Axa Group, later working for Fidal and Landwell & Associates. Throughout his career, Jean has organised and taken part in due diligence, tax structuring and more generally tax assistance, for both French and international clients in a large variety of sectors (Finance, IT, Telecom, Industry, Distribution and Education, etc).

Eugénie is specialised in Business taxation and Tax optimisation, with over 15 years of experience.

She has a focus on employee share ownership plans, management packages and tax optimisations both for businesses and individuals. She began her career as a lawyer in commercial law at Bernard Hertz Béjot, later collaborating with Slaughter & May, Bredin Prat and Landwell & Associates. Eugénie has acquired significant experience in personal and capital tax (revenue tax, wealth tax, transfer taxes, trusts); in business transfers; in international employee shares (stock-options, bonus shares, BCE, BSA…) and in the international mobility of people (pay structures, retirement).
 

Employment & Pensions

Jean-François Rage (age 40) is joining Marccus Partners as head of the Employment law department. Jean-François has spent more than 12 years gaining experience working for Clifford Chance, in London and Paris, Landwell & Associates and Salans. He is specialised in all aspects of labour law, both transnational advice and litigation.
